New Building Trends

Written by Greg Drusch | Feb 11, 2012 6:00:00 AM

At Cypress Homes, we pride ourselves on staying up to date with the latest and greatest building trends. In fact, we just learned tons of new ideas at the International Builder’s Show in Orlando, Florida. We can’t wait to bring this learning experience back to Wisconsin and improve our services in 2012! Here are a few building trends that really set new homes apart.

Energy Conservation

Wisconsin’s varying climate makes it difficult for homeowners to focus on energy conservation, so many new homes are being built with it in mind.  At Cypress Homes, we have raised the bar by partnering with the “Focus on Energy New Homes” program.  The standards set by this program help our customers save money and the environment.  By combining expertise with a greater consideration for efficiency, we are able to build homes that are insulated and sealed for exceptional energy conservation.  In addition to insulation, we focus on efficient ventilation, windows, water heaters and more.  In our experience, energy efficiency always pays off!

Technology in the Home

New homes are also evolving with increased technology! For your convenience, some new homes are being built with motion sensor lighting! Walking into a dark home can sometimes be difficult or even dangerous, but this new technology turns your lights on automatically. Additionally, you can look into homes, lighting, and appliances that can be controlled with your smart phone. If you forgot to turn the lights off, lock the doors, or monitor your sprinklers, there’s an app for that.

You might even consider investing in technology that can help you save money. For example, solar panels can help power your house or heat your water. Also, technology is improving heating and cooling systems. These systems can be tied together with a “smart panel” that allows your home to regulate temperature based on what rooms are occupied and what rooms are vacant. Finally, today’s technology conveniently harmonizes your home theater and audio systems. New homes allow for utilization of this technology.

Again, we look forward to sharing our experiences from the International Builder’s Show with you.  If you are interested in a fresh start with some of these new trends please give us a call at (920) 734-2324 or visit our website at www.callcypresshomes.com.
