3 New Kitchen Features

Feeling a little crowded in your kitchen?  We at Cypress Homes know many new homeowners are extremely excited about their new kitchens.  We also know that many people are not happy with their current space.  New kitchens are being designed with features that allow you to do so much more.  Here are a few things you might be missing in your kitchen:

Space

The “kitchen triangle” consists of 3 main points: the refrigerator, the stove, and the sink. You should be able to move from one location to the next unimpeded in your kitchen. Also, you want enough work space. The perimeters of many new kitchen triangles are 16 feet or more. The extra space allows for better organization and gives your kitchen a more comfortable, roomy feel.

Islands

Formal dining rooms are becoming less popular in new homes as many homeowners opt to have a dining area right in or off the kitchen. A kitchen island gives you that extra counter space you need and also provides the perfect atmosphere for you and your family to enjoy a quick meal. Kitchen islands are becoming one of the most popular places to congregate. Also, the island is the perfect place to serve food buffet-style during gatherings. Not to mention the variety of options you have with your island: you can add cooking space, a veggie sink, a snack bar, and more.

Appliances

Kitchen appliances have made a lot of advancements over the past decade. In fact, these upgrades can even start to pay themselves off as they can save you quite a bit on energy costs. In addition to efficiency, new appliances offer a lot of extra functionality including extra settings to further personalize them to your lifestyle. Finally, new appliances simply look better. A newly designed kitchen is incomplete without new appliances. These appliances add to the fashion of your beautiful new kitchen. You can even look into hidden or disguised appliances that blend right in with your cabinets.
