8 Easy Ways to Add Christmas Sparkle to Your Home

Written by Greg Drusch | Nov 25, 2011 6:00:00 AM

Now that Thanksgiving has passed the holiday season is officially here. It’s the most wonderful time of the year to decorate! Get inspired from these simple yet elegant holiday decorating tips brought to you by Cypress Homes.

1. All that Glitters

Sparkle is a holiday must. Try using inexpensive “shiny brights” to give depth to your tree and reflect the lights. Hang the most decorative ones at the tips of the branches.

2. Branch Out

Go twig hunting outside! Spray paint the branches metallic silver or gold, and pop them in a vase. Voilà!

If you’re looking to sell your home over the holidays, home creations like these will add just the right amount of holiday cheer!

3. Tie it Up

Find your best throw pillows and tie them with holiday-colored ribbon. Tie them once around the middle or like a Christmas gift. Fun!

4. Dazzling Table Decor

Create an easy decoration for any table in your home. Try using your favorite ornaments in colors that compliment the rest of your decor. Add a few pine cones and candles to really make it pop! (We have some GREAT counter tops in our design center to show off your creations!)

5. Brighten it Up

Fill large, tubular vases with red cranberries to add a gorgeous splash of color to your home. Add twigs, greenery, and water to top it off.

6. Simply Add Water

Fill clear vases with water. Add a few drops of holiday-colored food coloring and float candles in them to create a cool holiday accent.

7. Festive Illuminations

Light fixtures are a perfect place to add a little extra holiday cheer. Wrap glittering garland around the bottom of a chandelier, or hang your favorite ornaments.

8. Let it Snow

Even if it’s not exactly a white Christmas outside, you can still add a frosty effect to your home. Cut out paper snowflakes, and make a snowflake curtain for your window. This will help turn your home into the perfect winter wonderland!

‘Tis the season for decorating, and we at Cypress Homes hope these tips make your home shine!
