How would you rate your overall experience with Cypress Homes?
"I would rate the overall experience above average."
Was there anything you were worried about going into the building process?
"This was the first home we built. We were concerned about being able to pick out colors and being able to envision what it would look like when it was finished. We were also concerned about how much things would cost. Cypress understood what our expectations were."
How did you choose Cypress Homes?
"They built another home in our subdivision. We went to visit it and we loved the basic floor plan, but we wanted to personalize it. We found out they owned more lots in our subdivision, so we bought one. We had also seen the Cypress name and product in the Parade of Homes."
What are your favorite things about the house?
"I like that this house is cozier than our previous home. It's a one-and-a-half story. The layout works really well for my family. I love having the master bedroom on the main floor, and the kids' bedrooms upstairs in their own area. We had them finish out basement, and we practically live down there. It has egress windows, a family room and bar."
Would you recommend Cypress Homes?
"Yes, I would recommend Cypress Homes to anyone else who is looking to build. I would use them again."

What was your overall impression of working with Cypress Homes?
"Our home is a spec (express) home that had been built three or four months before we purchased it. It happened to be a Cypress home, and we liked it. We were looking for a one or two-year old home. We must have looked at 80 houses, and this was by far the best quality home we saw. The overall workmanship was great. Most of the other builders' houses we looked at had corners cut, or poor wood, or horrible appliances. We looked at one Cypress home, and we knew we wanted to see more Cypress homes."
Did you have any concerns after you moved in?
"Although we weren't involved in the building of our home, we had Cypress finish our basement for us. There were a few things I asked about during the process, like changes in color or where the vents would go, and they were quick to get back with me. There weren't a lot of problems because they were on top of everything."
What are your favorite things about the house?
"We love all the wood. The doors are solid wood, and there's a good-quality wood floor. It's very well done, and very good quality. We love the tile flooring."
Would you recommend Cypress Homes?
"I would recommend Cypress Homes, and I have. It's because of the quality. The price you pay for the quality you get is a great thing. I really liked their service. If I had a question or a problem, all I had to do was call and it was immediately taken care of."

How did you find Cypress Homes?
"I went through one of their Parade of Homes houses. The Parade houses were more house than what I wanted, so at first I was leery of having a builder who builds those kinds of houses build my house. But I talked with the Cypress rep, and she said, 'We build normal houses, too.' After that, I decided to move forward."
What was your overall impression of working with Cypress Homes?
"The overall experience was fun! They're very professional. I didn't expect it to be fun, but it really was."
"It's always fun to go shopping. You get to go and pick out lighting, floors, cabinets and all that. They set up all the appointments, and made it so easy for me."
"I really liked that Cypress handled the legal work. There was more legal stuff than I was aware of when you build a house. They faxed documents and took care of everything, which saved me time."
How does your home compare to what you expected?
"My house is everything I expected. I'm very happy with it. Everything is new, and I haven't had any problems."
Was your house done on time?
"My house was done on time. I sold my other house before I started construction, so I moved into an apartment while the house was being built. They got it done in three months, which is what they told me."
What's your favorite part of the house?
"My favorite part is having a brand-new house that I helped design. It's not just one I found on the street. It's fun seeing it go from thoughts to paper to reality, and it was great to be involved the whole way."
"My house is a three-bedroom ranch. They helped me design a mudroom in the back of the house, since I live on a farm. I can come home and walk into the master bath right from the mudroom, so I don't make a mess."
Was there anything you were worried about going into the building process?
"I built on a non-traditional building site, a farmette with barns and an old house, which I took down. I wanted the new house built in the same spot, but I was worried about putting a new house over where an old house had been. They helped me through all that."
Would you recommend Cypress Homes?
"Yes, I would recommend Cypress Homes. I'd build 10 more houses with them. It was fun!"

How did you find Cypress Homes?
The person who did our home loan recommended Cypress Homes.
Did you have any concerns going into the building process?
"We didn't really have any concerns going in. We had an idea of what we wanted from another house we looked at. Jeremy helped us tweak the plan to make it exactly what we wanted."
Did any concerns or issues arise during building?
"Cypress ran into problems with the subcontractor doing the drywall. Cypress didn't give me the runaround. They were reliable and responsible. They talked to me and explained everything. They did everything they could to get it resolved, and get us in our house as soon as possible."
How does your Cypress Homes home compare to your expectations?
"This house is everything I expected. It's the plan I wanted. The quality of the work is good. The few things we had problems with, Cypress just had me put together a list and they're working on taking care of it."
"Cypress does a little more than what other builders do. The wall and floor joists are glued and nailed, which is really good. We think it was better to pay a little more and have things done right."
What are your favorite things about the house?
"We wanted to save some money, so Jeremy suggested we make the rooms a little smaller. We took about four inches off the rooms. It saved us money, and we don't even notice that the rooms are smaller. We're really glad he suggested that."
"I like the design. We used to live in a two-story house. Now we have an open concept. There's a big difference. We also had Cypress finish half the basement into a family room, office, bar and full bath, and our basement has steps up to the garage."
"I love my garage. I get a lot of compliments on my garage doors—they're very quiet. We spent a little bit more money to have that, but it's worth it. You can barely hear the doors. Everyone comments on it."
Would you recommend Cypress Homes?
"I'd go with Cypress again. Cypress made sure things got done. I've already recommended them to other people."

How did you find Cypress Homes?
"We had been going through Parade homes for two years. We went through one from Cypress that came close to meeting our needs. We met with them several times and talked with Mike about what we were looking for."
What was your overall impression of working with Cypress Homes?
"It was a good experience. Anytime you build, there's stress, but for the most part it was good. We were excited."
How does your home compare to what you expected?
"Overall, it's been good. We really like the quality of the home inside, like the excellent woodwork and trim work. Those are the visible things that have very good quality."
Was there anything you were worried about going into the building process?
"We had a lot of questions going into the process, because it was the first house we built. We also did some unconventional things, like radiant heat, that Mike wasn't familiar with at first, but was willing to do."
"Our house was done on time."
What are your favorite things about the house?
"With a growing family that includes kids and their families, we were looking for more general space in our home. We combined the sunroom and dining room to have larger areas, and we have a great room that runs into the sun room. We also have a large kitchen. Because of those large, open spaces, our house can accommodate large groups of people. In 2003, we had more than 60 people in our living room/dining room area for a wedding gift opening."
Would you recommend Cypress Homes?
"I've given references for Mike already. One of the things I talk about is how Mike manages the subcontractor accounts very closely. He makes sure the work they are supposed to be doing gets done, and the liens came off at the end. It's not something everyone cares about, but it was something we looked at early on. His references from the title companies were good. He stayed on top of it. That meant a lot to us."
"Cypress visits the site a lot and stays on top of the schedule. They move it along and get it done. That's a good sign."
"I hope I don't have to build again, because this is our dream home, but if I did, I'd talk to Cypress."

How did you find Cypress Homes?
"Our realtor told us they were really good. We weren't sure we wanted to build, but we saw one of Cypress's Parade homes and really liked it."
"We liked Cypress's work because it seemed a little more up-to-date, even 10 years ago when we built, than what other builders in this area were doing. Everyone else was just doing oak woodwork, but Cypress was doing things that were more modern with different wood."
What was your overall impression of working with Cypress Homes?
"We told Mike what we were interested in. We didn't even get any other bids from other builders. We decided to go with him. We told him we wouldn't nickel and dime him, and he said the same thing to us, and he didn't. We made small changes here and there, and he didn't charge us. We trusted him. It was more like a partnership than just a customer and supplier."
"Our home was a Parade Home. It was done on time. It's absolutely beautiful. We're so proud of it."
"All in all, we're really pleased with how we were treated."
"We have other friends who have had nightmare experiences with their builders. Our experience was so fun. We'd do it again in a minute."
"We were lucky to get to work with Mike. I trusted him. He kept me informed. I was told what was happening every single day, so I had time to make decisions, think about them and change my mind if I needed to."
Did any concerns arise during the building process?
"During construction, we changed the plan to make the sunroom bigger but somehow the blueprints for the basement didn't get changed correctly. When Cypress noticed the mistake, Mike called us right away, and he was honest. That's what made us like him. He was willing to do whatever it took to make it right. It's how a builder deals with things like that that make a big difference."
What are your favorite things about the house?
"Our home is just exactly what we wanted. It's amazing how easy Cypress made it. Usually, when you build a house, you think later, 'Oh, we should have done this,' but we didn't."
"Cypress has a fine group of people working with them."
"The house is well-built. People comment that's built very square; it doesn't crack."
"My favorite thing is our cabinetry. Brown County Cabinets did a wonderful job. They are at different heights, to match the theme we put in our house of having walls "stepped" down at the corners. It really adds interest."
Would you recommend Cypress Homes?
"If we ever had another house built, we'd use Cypress again in a heartbeat."
"We tell everyone what a great experience we had with Cypress, and that we had the best builder around."
