What was your overall impression of working with Cypress Homes?

“After you get done building a house, people ask you if there’s anything you’d change or do different next
time. With us, there isn’t, and that’s rare. It’s because of good planning on Cypress’s part. We’re very
pleased with the customization and quality. Our house far exceeds what I could have imagined. I saw it
on paper, and saw samples, but the way they pulled it together was amazing. Never having built a house
before, I found it hard to imagine the finished home. We’re extremely pleased with how it turned out.”
Was there anything you were worried about going into the building process?

“We were worried about the stress of having to pick everything out, design everything, things like that. I’ve
seen couples do it and really get stressed out. But it wasn’t stressful at all; it was wonderful. It was so
much fun!”

Did any concerns arise during the building process?

“We really had no issues, but if anything ever came up, they took care of it immediately. They never
passed the buck. We came by one day when they were doing the stucco on the outside of the house, but
the finish didn’t have the texture we wanted. There wasn’t even any question—they just redid the whole
thing so it was exactly what we wanted. Any little thing that came up, or that we brought to their attention,
they were already aware of and had a plan in place to address. Actually, it was usually them bringing
things to our attention. One day I got to the house and our whirlpool was on its way out the door. I asked
why, and they said there was a tiny little nick in it, and they wanted to make it perfect. It was something I
never even would have noticed, but they wanted it to be exactly the way we wanted it.”

What are your favorite things about the house?

“One of my favorite things is the size of the house. A one-story home layout of this size isn’t easy to do.
My husband, Rick, did the design. I have to compliment Cypress Homes for making it happen. We wanted
a lot of etched glass throughout the house. We brought in pictures, and asked Mike, ‘Can you do this?’
He said sure, and he knew exactly where to go. Mike always set us up with the right people.”

Would you recommend Cypress Homes?

“I would recommend them 100%, and I’d definitely choose them again. We like our house so much, we
asked them to remodel our condo in Door County, too. When you’re working with a builder, you want
someone who’s not afraid to bring you new ideas, and they’re not. They might suggest something you
never even thought of, that you didn’t even know you wanted until you saw it.”
